Southside Basics

We seek to be a Christ-centered, Bible-believing, evangelical congregation. We have fellowship and affiliation with a number of Bible-believing, Christ-focused Christians, especially those rejoicing in the amazing sovereign grace of God! For us the important point is that we are disciples of Jesus Christ. We are Christians, saints, and brothers and sisters with all who form the true Church and Bride of Jesus Christ.

We teach from the Bible and use various Biblical, Christ-honoring publications. We support specific missionaries and mission groups.

We believe that membership in a local body of Bible-believing Christians is a very sacred commitment. It is the Lord Jesus Christ by His Holy Spirit who leads individuals and families to become vital members of a local church.

We recognize the Lord Jesus Christ to be the head of His Church universal and local, and thus the head of this body of believers.

Our Church is nonsectarian and is subject solely and directly to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We recognize that the Lord has given the local church:

    PASTORS/ELDERS: God's provision for Church's spiritual care and oversight

    DEACONS: God's provision for the physical and other various ministry needs of the church

    MEMBERS: God's provision by which the whole body is built up as we minister one to another, using God-given gifts
