Faithful Families Ministry Information

The Southside Wednesday Night Faithful Families Class serves families with children from newborn to 13 years old. We incorporate the whole family, not just the children. Everyone participates in play time, snack time, and lesson time. We also have a birthday and anniversary card ministry.

Our lesson time focuses on training in the Word of God. Each week we work on a Scripture memory passage, with even those too young to talk working on hand motions for the verses. Over the past couple of years we have learned short passages, such as John 3:16-21, all the way to entire chapters like I Corinthians 13. Our lessons have covered such topics as Prayer, the Ten Commandments, and catechism questions that instill the truths of God’s Word. We use the fathers in the group as teachers, as well as bringing in other men from the church to teach a lesson.

Our Faithful Family class has been a great blessing to many. We have seen growth and maturity in the kids as individuals, we’ve seen friendships grow among the kids, and we’ve seen them wrestle with questions and seek Godly, Biblical answers. The parents involved have also been blessed with closer fellowship with other parents in the same stage of life. And our church has been blessed as they’ve seen these young children get up before the body to recite Scripture, answer catechism questions, and as the members of the church have received cards from the children.
